Home / Experience / A Home Reimagined / Smart Hub
The Housing & Development Board’s (HDB) Smart Hub is a centralised data repository that harnesses data collection to gather insights on residents’ feedback, facilities usage and other estate services for our homes to be environmentally sustainable in the long run.
To gather data, sensors are first installed on estate fixtures like lifts, water pumps, landscape irrigation and manual locks at restricted areas are replaced with smart locks. These sensors then capture real-time information that are then transmitted to the Smart Hub for analysis.
With the ability to recognise any malfunctions or abnormalities in smart systems, the Smart Hub enables HDB to make informed decisions with effective outcomes (e.g. analyse the occurrences of lift faults and work with lift vendors to improve lift performance and standards).
Find out more about how the Smart Hub fits into the Smart HDB Town Framework’s five-pronged approach to develop smart towns.
