In celebration of Singapore’s 60th birthday in 2025, 60 dreams contributed by diverse communities who call Singapore home have been printed on the red discs covering the Dream Sphere’s façade. From youths and nature enthusiasts to persons with disabilities and members of the Japanese community in Singapore, discover more of their dreams that offer a glimpse of the future for generations to come.

‘Blooming Singapore’ is a testament to the harmonious coexistence of different cultures and traditions. It embodies Singapore’s inclusive spirit and its journey of growth, blooming into a nation that embraces its multicultural fabric while forging a shared future.

Future Singapore

Name: Nur Sabriyah Shi Ning Binte Mohamed Dzulhilmi, 12.

Organisation: Nature Society Singapore

This artwork envisions a futuristic Singapore, where flying houses and vehicles redefine the landscape. With the rapid pace of technological advancement, I believe we are progressing forward a future where flying cars – and perhaps even homes – become a reality. The merlion, wearing a VR headset, symbolizes the fusion of innovation, prosperity, and technological sophistication.

Green Oasis in the Concrete Jungle

Name: Genevieve Eio, 18.

This illustration is my vision of Singapore in the future. I wanted to show Singapore as a sustainable city with greenery, so I depicted urban farming. Urban farms create little pockets of nature in the city, making it greener and more vibrant. I added Singapore’s iconic public housing flats as well as robots, as I feel they will become commonplace in the future.

These elements that I have drawn are essential parts of Singapore’s future, and they make up Singapore’s cultural identity in the past, present and future.

Transport in the Future

I envision the future to have advanced technology, where Singapore is home to flying MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) trains, SBS buses (public buses in Singapore) and taxis. I illustrated this because having flying transport in the Singapore’s future will overcome urban congestions and enhance connectivity. This will also make Singapore a smart city, elevate our city’s skyline and promote eco-friendliness.

A circle formation is symbolic in representing unity. In this circle, one family is shown to be supported by numerous individuals. The artists thus hope to bring forth that no man is an island, and our lives are intertwined by those around us. The artwork encapsulates the idea of an inclusive Singapore, where no one will be left behind, and we can come together as one society, living together harmoniously and enjoying what Singapore has to offer.

The different houses show the past and present of Singapore’s houses. The orchids are not only Singapore’s national flower (Vanda Miss Joaquim) but can also be found on murals you would see on the walls of shophouses.

Cyber Dragon

Name: Ernest Wong Joon Yao, 23.

Through his artwork, Ernest celebrates the past, present and future of Singapore by merging the iconic heritage playground with robotic features and elements. He hopes to remind Singaporeans that we should always remain anchored in our cultural heritage even as we move towards the digital age.

“Singapore through a Kaleidoscope” is a visual representation of Ong Xin Min’s version of Singapore, the place she gladly calls home.

In her kaleidoscopic view of Singapore, people of different occupations stand surrounded by iconic landmarks. By keeping people at the core of her artwork, Xin Min shares her belief that the development of our people is key to the continued progress of this nation.

The central composition is surrounded by motifs, inspired by tiles and patterns from our traditional heritage. This pays homage to our nation’s diverse cultural traditions. The artwork incorporates elements of nature, with flowers and plants symbolising Singapore’s harmonious coexistence with nature. ‘Fabric of Singapore’ serves as a visual tribute to the nation’s unity, resilience, and commitment to preserving its cultural heritage while embracing progress.

Our Future Singapore: The Global Leader of Smart Nation

This artwork showcases a bold vision for the future of Singapore. Singapore will become a champion for sustainability, powered by renewable energy and integrated with everyday technology. A vertical farm market, driverless electric vehicle, flying taxis and eVTOL aircraft surround the artwork. An innovation and education hub fitted with advanced VR, holographic displays, robotics and AI-based personalised learning is seen teaching the next generation.

Our ancestors laid the groundwork, and we will shape the future with a smart city driven by AI. Work life has been enhanced as technology handles manual tasks, while we focus on upskilling our workers to acquire specialised skills for the future.

Henry Lim aims to capture Singapore’s uniqueness through her landmarks. He is assisted by his friend, Ang Wei Lun, 35, who helped with filling in some of the artwork’s shapes as Henry has limited control over his movements.

Henry hopes that we can celebrate the things that uniquely represent Singapore. Even though many of us have lived here for years, he believes there is still much to appreciate and explore.

Our piece, “All Hands on Deck”, illustrates a ship with people of every race on it, working together to sail into our future, which includes an accomplished 40 by 40 plan (inspired by 30 by 30), a safer and greener Singapore and even virtual reality as an education tool. We hope to convey that Singapore has a bright future if we all work together.

As Ee Wun’s main mode of communication is sign language, she wants to play a part in Singapore’s journey to become more inclusive through her artwork. By teaching Singaporeans how to sign ‘Singapore’, she hopes to create more awareness about the language and inspire others to learn how to sign.

This futuristic Singapore where AI/Robots will help us in our daily task, such as navigating our ways to places and preparing food for us. Flying spaceships will replace our cars to make traveling more convenient and safer. Changes to the current places will be made to help people have a better life in Singapore.

The Puzzle Waiting to be Done

In Singapore’s 2030 Green Plan target, Singapore wants to increase nature parks’ land area and wants every household to be near a park. Therefore, I illustrated a green environment within the daily lives of ordinary residents, while conveying ‘Transformation’ from now to the greening environment. The illustration is also a puzzle, with a hand holding a puzzle piece representing our anticipation for the future.

My artwork envisions Singapore’s vibrant journey toward the future, showcasing potential innovations by 2040, such as teleportation for instant deliveries, soundproof bubble study rooms tailored for learning, and compassionate robots in healthcare that monitor and assist patients. A timeline on its left highlights our advancements, from vertical farming and NEWater which had already been implemented in 2024 to potential breakthroughs like self-driving cars.
