Home / Experience / A Home Reimagined / Elderly Care System
Offered to all Housing & Development Board’s (HDB) households, the Elderly Care System that learns the daily habits of seniors and alerts families or other caregivers when unusual behaviours are detected.
The system involves the use of smart sensors such as motion sensors and door contact sensors, which are easy to install at home. The sensors then gain insights on the daily habits and routines of our seniors at home, alerting families or caregivers via text or notifications if concerning behaviour is detected. Other additional precautionary measures such as the panic button also help to ensure timely interventions.
Watch on to understand how the IEM is used to build a comfortable and living environment.
Though the system takes note of their location and sleeping patterns, initial pilot-tests showed that the system, though informative, did not compromise on privacy.
